  18.  1. What is Kaspersky Anti-Virus ScriptChecker?

  21. Kaspersky Anti-Virus ScriptChecker is an anti-virus program that provides ultimate
  22. protection for your computer against script viruses and worms based on 
  23. "LoveLetter" Internet worm. Kaspersky Anti-Virus ScriptChecker detects and stops any kind
  24. of script worms that use mail service(s) to spread themselves.

  26.  2. How the program works
  27.  ========================

  29. The applications that use "Microsoft Windows Script Host" (Microsoft 
  30. Explorer, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook e.t.c.) send 
  31. script bodies (VB script, Java script, e.t.c.) to "Script Hosting" to 
  32. process and execute them. Before these scripts are executed, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 
  33. Script Checker scans them with heuristic engine and also transfers them for 
  34. Kaspersky Anti-Virus Monitor to check script bodies for known viruses (in case 
  35. Kaspersky Anti-Virus Monitor is installed and switched on). In case a virus or worm 
  36. is detected, or the suspicious code is found in script body, a user will be informed with 
  37. warning message and the script execution will be terminated. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 
  38. ScriptChecker has no configuration settings. To check its functionality
  39. you may use EICAR.HTML file included in the setup package. If you open the file
  40. in your browser program Kaspersky Anti-Virus ScriptChecker shows the warning message.

  42.  3. Virus Definitions
  43.  ====================
  44. Kaspersky Anti-Virus ScriptChecker does not use KAV anti-virus database. It detects 
  45. script worms by heuristic engine. In order to keep your defence at the highest 
  46. level install Kaspersky Anti-Virus Monitor and do not forget to download the latest 
  47. virus definitions from Kaspersky Lab's WWW (http://www.kaspersky.com) or FTP site 
  48. (ftp://ftp.avp.ru).
